The Chinese Mayflower Celebrating 120 years of Immigrating to Sitiawan, Malaysia God bless Sitiawan! On Sept. 9, 1903 Rev. Ling Chin Mee led 363 people from Fu-zhou to board a boat for Sitiawan, Malaysia,and make a new life there. Laying a solid foundation for development in the area. 120 years later on Double Ninth Day, they hold a thanksgiving service and a march to commemorate. As they placed flowers on the tomb of Rev. Ling Chin Mee, a cross appeared in the clouds, testifying to God''s blessing on this place. Facing poverty and the Boxer rebellion in China, these Christians from Fu-zhou came to Sitiawan. In difficult circumstances they held fast to their faith, passing it on to the next generation. Such that not only does Sitiawan have a high percentage of Christians, but Jalan Lin Chen Mei, Living Water Well and Ground-breaking Memorial are all evidence of God''s grace. Local churches held a worship night on this 120th Double Ninth day. Pastors washed each other''s feet. Rev Raymond Mooi led a night of miracles. Over 120 shofars blew together, stirring up Christians today to follow the Lord, starting from Sitiawan to bless all of Malaysia. To honor the history of their forbears voyage here, local churches established the Sitiawan Settlement Museum, passing on the story of God''s grace in bringing the Chinese here, and encouraging Christians to carry on the pioneering mission spirit.
